The ICP consolidated everything into a single flat rate. One number, every visa type, every emirate. If a source is quoting tiers, it has not been updated.

This is where most residents get caught. When employment ends, the employer cancels the residence visa — and the 30-day grace period runs from the cancellation date, not your last working day. Those can be weeks apart.
Employers do not always communicate the cancellation date clearly. Check it yourself on the ICP or GDRFA portal as soon as you leave a role, and count 30 days from what the system shows.
Within that window you have three realistic options: transfer to a new employer’s sponsorship, switch to another visa category such as a job seeker or freelance permit, or exit the country.

An unpaid overstay does not simply disappear when you leave. The record sits in the ICP and GDRFA systems and can block a future visa application years later. Repeated overstays can result in entry bans.
